Please note the following amendments applicable with immediate effect:

SSR 302. GENERAL CONDITIONS APPLICABLE TO MOTOR VEHICLE CLASSES
Amend point iii), last sentence to read as follows:Besides the “Hella” and “Cibie” lights all brand of lights will be acceptable during the 2003 season provided that these lights meet the required level of intensity (i.e. 55 watt). Any disputes in this regard will be arbitrated by the MSA Off Road Technical Consultant, at his sole discretion.

PART II – CLASSIFICATION AND VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS FOR OFF ROAD MOTOR VEHICLES
1. SPECIAL VEHICLE CATEGORY
Amend point 1.1 Class A, point 1.2 Class B and point 1.3 Class C to include four wheel drive vehicles in the Special Vehicle Categories.

1.2 Class B
Engine – 1.2.1 This rule, because of the way it is written, specifically excludes turbo charging or supercharging of the engine selected within the capacity limit.

In Production classes D & E any petrol or turbodiesel engines up to a capacity limit are acceptable. It has been suggested that turbocharged diesels up to a capacity of 2050 be accepted into Class B, Special Vehicles. A recommendation proposing the acceptance of turbodiesels in 2004 will be put before the Commission in the near future.

Those competitors wishing to build turbo charged ‘B’ Class cars and run them during 2003 will be asked to run in Class A. during the 2003 season.

CLASS D – SPECIFIC SPECIFICATIONS
With reference to point 2.3.1.7 Please amend to read as follows, to clarify the meaning – All vehicles selected to run in this class, that are fitted with fuel injection as standard, must retain the standard system. The system includes the inlet manifold and standard throttle body. Internal porting and metal removal only is allowed.

2.3.5 SUSPENSION
2.3.5.5 is amended to read as follows: Bumpstops are free, including the use of hydraulic bump stops.

2.3.9 BODY
2.3.9.3 Amend to read as follows: The standard dash may be removed.

2.4 CLASS E – SPECIFIC SPECIFICATIONS
2.4.1.6 Amend to read the same as 2.3.1.7 for Class D. Please also delete 2.4.1.7 which is a repeat of 2.4.1.6.
2.4.1.8 Amend to read – The inlet manifold for carburetors is free.
2.4.1.16 Ad this point which will read as follows: No telemetry is permitted.

2.4.2 TRANSMISSION/DRIVE LINE
2.4.2.3 and 2.4.2.4 Amend both these entries to read – Rubber mountings may be changed for mountings of other material however the mountings must remain dimensionally the same.

2.4.3 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Amend this entry to read BRAKING SYSTEM.

2.4.5 SUSPENSION
2.4.5.5 Amend to read as follows: Bump stops are free, except that the use of hydraulic bump stops is prohibited.

2.4.6 RIMS/TYRES
2.4.6.1 Please ad the following: At least one third of the plan view of the tyre must be covered by the wheel arch bodywork when viewed from above.

2.5.9 BODY
2.5.9.1 Amend the last sentence in this paragraph to read as follows” The centre line of the front wheel must be within 50 mm of its original position relative to ‘A’ pillar on a standard vehicle (see sketch).

2. PRODUCTION VEHICLES
2.1 GENERAL COMPLIANCE – ALL CLASSES
To comply with the acceptance criteria a production vehicle must be produced anywhere in the world and sold in quantities greater than 2500, in any consecutive 12 month period. Final acceptance is subject to approval of the Technical Consultant and the Commission President.
