The major changes to the event for 2003 is the DOCUMENTATION – START/FINISH VENUE which will be with in the confines of the new GAME CITY shopping centre situated at Kgali Hill on the southern entry into Gaborone.
This new venue provides a far more secure and clean enviroment and in addition to this the facilities for you, your family and friends is far better. The shopping complex offers all the amenities of a modern shopping centre which includes restaurants and cinema’s. You will also find a Go-kart Track, Climbing Wall and Put-Put Course within 100m of documentation.
The route this year has some changers in that the first section to the “Designated Service Point” has about 30% new route and has been shortened to about 230Km. The road crossings and spectator points in this section will remain the same as 2002.
From the “Designated Service Point” to the “Overnight Stop” will be extended to about 270Km. Which will include some new sections.
The “Overnight Stop” will be in the same place at Mamshwabisi, the good news is that the road from the tar to the “Overnight Stop” is at present being upgraded.
