Problem is always - they all look alike!

Most MSA licence holders will by now have received a nomination form for new Rally Commission members.
In the past, I got the feeling that the election was done by a selected few, while the majority of licence-holders ignored the matter completely.
Looking at rallying the way it was, I suppose that we could afford to have a committee consisting of people who cared for the sport, who were involved in one way or another, and did a good job, but things have changed.
Rallying in South Africa is busy bursting it’s seems - in short, the game has moved up a number of important steps on the commercial and professional ladder.
The election is for three (3) competitor representatives on the Rally Commission, which will probably mean ‘limited’ influence and say, but we need to get the right people in there. With “right” I surely do not mean that those in there are “wrong”, all I am saying is that we need to make sure that the Commission in total consist of a team who will be able to take rallies as a business to the heights it can reach.
We need for instance at least four more "professional rally teams" who participate to ensure that the level of entertainment to the public continuous on its upward trend.
To enable us to do this, we will need to secure or help secure more and better sponsors than most of the privateers and of the events especially on regional level have. Most important however will be to make sure that the price placed on the value is right. The days are past where you must be able to get your name on a car because you supply a can of oil, a T-shirt and a cap to the team.
RallyStar® will for instance in the very near future make a professional proposal available to our members that will contain all the necessary information to secure (or at least better your chances to secure) a sponsorship. We will also keep on file what companies have been approached by the various members, which will ensure that you do not waste unnecessary time effort, and money.
This however is besides the point for the time being – the important thing is to ensure that you put the right people in place to see to your affairs.
