Rally Events Photos Competition

Wednesday morning the 22nd of September 2004

Never mind the condition of the morning, we were the proud winners of a non operational, non co-operational, never disadvantaged internet system until the early hours of this wonderful morning. This means that I could only download the stage results of the Subaru Cape Rally that was converted from numbers to actual time yesterday by my secretary while I was looking for sponsors for the PMC rally, a few minutes ago. This in turn means that you will be able to carry on doing everything you can to assist us in finding a few sponsors at R5000 each for the event, while I will do my best to get the complete stage analysis to you during the day.

Of course, I remember I promised you the results and RallyStar analysis for yesterday, but this will give you the feeling you will get in October if we do not get sponsors for the last rally of the year soon!

Please guys although we are getting the sponsors slowly but surely, the emphasis is on slowly – too slowly at this stage. It can be so easy - if we get 10 dedicated people who assist us in finding five sponsors each we are home and dry and will be able to present you with the mother of rallies in October. If we get 50 people out of the thousands who read RallyStar every day (around 76 000 per month) it will be a breeze!

It is incredible that there are still only a handful of really loyal persons helping us to find sponsors after all the urgent appeals we made to most of you personally. Don’t think that this has nothing to do with you, it has everything to do with the survival and especially growth of rallying in SA.

Once again – all you need to do is to find a few sponsors for R5000 each who will then stand a chance of winning naming and TV rights for the last rally of the year. Please help us! Just think about your small sponsor getting his name linked to a major rally! This alone is worth R2m in publicity!

On a slightly lighter note – some enthusiast phoned me yesterday to find out what happened to article on the double yump and sms war. It was suggested that I had to remove the article.

Now lets be very clear on that – I removed the article because the matter was resolved – poor Greg admitted his fault at the double yump and apologized. Dave Ledbitter and me sorted the matter of the sms messages out to such an extend that I felt I should in good faith remove the article as it did not depict my feelings anymore.

What was said however stands and reflects my true feeling about the matter. I have had enough of any unfounded stories and allegations about any person in the sport.

Let us walk away from the matter and work to lay a solid base from which we can build the sport rather that carry on about who said what.

There is still however one matter that will receive some attention ……. See there we go again, but watch this space!

Before you go..... that sponsorship thing - please, big, big please help us. Thanks to those people who actually committed themselves personally to donate R5000 - you will not believe how much we appreciate that.

If you are in any form of business - you must have some supplier - please see if you can twist his or her arm - it really is worthwhile. If you still do not have the proper information on the sponsorship concept - please phone Ronell on 012 347 8532 or e-mail Sponsorship info please

Thanks again - we know we can rely on you.
