Huh?

Start in a “rosary”, drive towards a “high tide” waterhole, negotiate a deal with the “church”. Sound misleading? Great, then are succeeding in getting the grey matter active and yes, it’s treasure hunt time on the West Coast. Considered a highlight on the Witzenberg Motorklub social calendar this presents the ideal opportunity to test any relationship albeit husband and wife or brother and sister to the absolute limit!
Cryptic clues take those brave enough to risk it on a sight seeing tour of a section of the West Coast, which they would normally not bother visiting. Though not considered a competitive event human nature results in stressful communication within most teams as answers are sought. Fortunately listening to these answers afterwards normally relates to a very relaxed and enjoyable evening where issues such as the arrival of van Riebeeck and da Gama are discussed. Not to mention a talking church! Be advised that listening to Radio West Coast 92.3Fm during the event could be beneficial, of course, we could also be wrong?
Most encouraging is the number of families entered for the event. Ranging from a 68 year old grandmother to an eight year old these events truly succeed in getting everyone involved. Local knowledge is not always a great help as one tends to accept certain elements as being normal, are they? The good news is that fine weather is predicted for the day with temperatures ranging from 4ºC to 18ºC. Another bonus is exceptional flowers along the route and of course the opportunity to spend some time together without the pressures of a competitive event.
Fact is the 2006 Radio West Coast 92.3Fm car treasure hunt will start from the Paternoster Hotel on Saturday 19 August 2006. First team to depart at 13h00 and the finish / prizegiving takes place at the same venue. When, whenever you get back of course!
