Rarely do we find comfort in asking why someone had been called to higher authority and often find ourselves with more questions than answers.
Paul Pfeiffer represented everything I admired in a true sportsman and will not be remembered for his achievements in rallying, his legacy will live on through the spirit he projected whilst playing his game! He had no interest in featuring on the regional score sheets, offered his car and camera to organizers to raise the local standards, the long conversations about rallying in general, never too important to speak to anyone. Obviously building towards a serious challenge at national level once the new N14 Subaru got sorted his presence at regional events enriched any entry list.
Finishing fifth overall on his debut in the November 2001 Bredasdorp Rally with navigator, Johan Barnard, in the A6 Toyota Corolla RXi 1600 Paul really came into his own with the Evo 6, driving far better than the initial results reflected. Watching Paul drive this car was indeed a privilege, there was no frills attached, he gave it everything he had, every time!

Farewell

Now he has moved on to a greater calling and hopefully we have all become richer through what he presented to us as an individual!
Do not mourn his passing, live his legacy!
