Saturday's HiQ Rallystar Sprint will offer brand new challenges when a large number of "off-road" vehicles will come to match their ability against that of their counterparts - the rally fraternity.
The track will be more demanding an precision driving will be required as the organisers will block the "off-road" vehicles from "cutting corners" for advantage!
The "off-road" fraternity will bring along their own support and the traditional rally teams are forewarned that Saturday will be a serious step up in the popularity of the Sprint events.
The fact that the 'off-roaders' will be divided into the existing classes to score for the Champion of Champions race at the end of the year - will mean that much more points will be available in all the classes where the entries were low in the past.
This is also a much needed injection for both disciplines and I will bet a Rallystar sticker on the fact that you will soon see interest building mutually between the two disciplines.
This step will also increase the interest in the HiQ series and will without doubt draw more new sponsors and participants to the events!
The traditional "long test" will be designed to suit the "off-road" clan as well as the rally teams and it will be interesting to see what the difference between the two disciplines is!
The event will start at 10h00 with a drives briefing and then a recce of Tests 1 and Two.
Documentation opens at 08h00.
