Early leader - young turk Martin!
|
Although the competitors completed only two minutes of the rally, it is exiting to be able to say that there are three Fords in the first four positions.
Peugeot find themselves in the unfamiliar fifth, sixth and eight positions! Subaru are holding second and seventh positions.
To get this situation in perspective – the rally has not really started. You will realise that they have done only two minutes of stages, and tomorrow at around 08h23 our South African time, the fun and games will starts when they tackle the first real stage, of about 23 kms followed by the third stage which is 28 kms long.

...and Valentino Rossi? Well he is lying 26th at the moment. Not too bad for his first attempt. To be honest, I don't think he will do worse than this, but on the other hand, a Super Special where you can see every corner, is slightly different from where you can not see around corners.
But look at this, he is getting more publicity than the leaders, and we have only started.
