A step back in the right direction?

Pretty it ain't - Subaru just has that special look!

What they were thinking? - Yes, that's the question so many Subaru fans are still debating over.
What were they thinking when they released the first bug-eyed Impreza.
Not that it hasn't grown on most Subaru fans and even other rally fans, but was it undoubtebly a mistake - I think so.
The early model Impreza all the way through to the P2000 model was a mean looking machine, holding credibility not only for it's results but that agressive look it held when belting through the stages. The 2003 model is a step back in the right direction ahead of an apparent good ol' slap in the face of the bug-eyes in 2004.
My ranting is not just random, it was invoked by the latest Subaru.Wrc-Online.net poll asking Do you like the 2003 Impreza design?.
And how did the general Wrc-Online.net population answer, very much in the affirmative. In-fact the results follow:
Yes 80.8%
No 13.1%
Undecided 6.2%
So the fans are happy to see the 2003 shape car take over in Monte Carlo, good news because happy fans and you would assume happy team enthused by their good looking new machine will be hungry for good results.

And you can actually drive this. Can you imagine?

Subaru fans should certainly be looking forward to next season and let's hope Tommi Makinen can score yet another win on the opening round in Monte Carlo, but also keep the flow rolling through the season along with Petter Solberg.
2003 - "a less rounded, more pointed year".
Once again a 2 car onslaught of the season will be the procedure, putting us at a disadvantage to Peugeot with their four car line up. However, that's a decision the team has made with that in mind so we'll just have to look forward to that.
Second in the drivers championship for Petter Solberg, a new better looking and accepted car and a very hungry Tommi Makinen - bring it on.
