Round 1 of the 2011 WP Championship dominated by Jean-Pierre Damseaux and Cobus Vrey in the Team Total S2000 Toyota Run X with Ashley Haigh-Smith and Cindi Harding a brilliant debut second in the A6 Ford Fiesta R2 1600.

Third, just one second behind the Ford, was Sebatiaan Klaasen and Kesevan Naidoo in their S5 / N4 Subaru Impreza WRX 4x4 Turbo. Third went to John Peiser and Craig Gray in their older S5 / N4 Subaru Impreza GT 4x4 Turbo.

Clinton and Keenan Sassman produced their best ever result with fifth overall in their well sorted S4 E30 BMW 325i and this popular father and son combination was followed home by another up and coming ace in Paul-Hendrik Franken and Uwe Pey in their ex-Mike Nathan S3 / A6 Toyota Corolla RXi 1600.

The ever consistent S2 Mitsubishi Lancer GT1600 of Steven White and Patrick Vermaak again finishing seventh overall despite the fact that the car ran most of the day minus rear shocks.

Divan de Goede and Henry Köhne eighth in their S3 Toyota Corolla RXi 1600 after another impressive performance. Shuan Jones and Mark Avice du Ruissni ninth in their S4 VW Polo TDi. Gavin Grierson and Paul van Greunene tenth in the S4 Datsun Skyline GTX 2.8.

Benjamin Johnson and Christoff Lottering completed their debut rally eleventh and first in S1. Seeing the green Golf racing with the legendary ostrich feather made famous by his father, Mark, certainly left a lump in the throat but clearly they have talent.

André George and George du Toit did not have a happy day in 12th spot with the A6 / S3 Toyota Conquest 1600 and the final combination home was father and son Justin and Brian Hoskins in their S1 / A5 VW Golf Chico 1.4i.

Thorsten Pey and Mark Palmer escaped unscathed after a high speed off on SS5 whilst running second overall in their Winning Business Solutions S4 BMW 325i.

Charl Strydom and Sakkie Bosman had the gearbox blow on the A6 / S3 Sabre Paints VW Polo 1600 whilst Winston Neethling and Garth Ritsch lost an argument with a fence before popping the motor on their S5 Nissan Sentra 4x4.

Michael Ramshaw and Tinus Claassen retired their S3 Toyota Corolla RXi 1600 after just three stages with an ailing motor.
