HERE WE GO AGAIN ...ITS SPRINT TIME!!
The Rallystar Sprint series will kick off on Saturday the 26th February 2011 and if the testing and activities at the track is anything to go by, we are in for a hell of a series this year!
Sponsorship will probably be finalised before the 1st event and will then be announced, but you can prepare yourself for some serious competition this year as the Champion of Champions will probably walk away with prizes worth in excess of R25 000!
The series will again consist of 8 events and the last one will be rounded of by the very popular Champion of Champions class!
You will also note that the “open” class disappeared and that it will not be possible for competitors to enter in classes they do not belong in.
There will be at least five new entrants running under the Rallystar Arrive and Drive banner and we expect about 30 entries on average per event!
For those interested there are still some Arrive and Drive opportunities available at R55 000 for the series – but you will have to book your seat before the second sprint and then drive like hell to become the Champion of Champions!
Tjaart and Mari van der Walt will this year defend their title and if our info is correct they will have some serious competition from the likes of Nico Higgs, Jaco Venter and some more names on the list.
Like last year consistency will again be crucial – but the popular MaxCap system will again see to it the you have a chance even after screwing up on a run or two.
We will this year also try to fit in an extra test on the long back run to try and get more kilometres into the action – so watch this space for detail.
ENTRIES
The entry form is attached to this article and it is very important that you enter prior to the event to prevent paying a late entry penalty.
We will this year charge for late entries as it pushes up our costs due to the fact that we have to print extra numbers and Route Notes due to the fact that we do not know what to expect!
So please assist us by entering on time!
MSA will offer Competition Licences on the day as a courtesy service! Please bring your driver’s licence and club membership with you!
PMC membership will be available on the day as well.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE EVENT STARTS A BIT EARLIER THAN LAST YEAR - IF YOU NEED A LICENCE PLEASE ALLOW FOR TIME TO COMPLETE THE FORMS ETC.
