SEVEN OUTSTANDING CHARGES....
An open article to those concerned.....
After receiving a number of calls and electronic messages to read an article in today’s Business Day (Page 14 Nov 15 edition) I did that and sat there staring at nothing!
I could not help but wonder what the hell was going on at MSA?
A week or so ago the Board of MSA issued a statement declaring Mr Francois Pretorius as clean and crisp as an Omo advert stating that NO criminal charges are pending against him. I said “thank goodness I almost believed we had a criminal in charge of millions!”
Then after reading the mentioned article and also based on more information I received today from whom I believe was “good authority” (if investigators can be believed), which reckoned that investigations against this gentlemen are basically complete and that the fireworks are about to start, I could not help but once again sit up and take notice!
Before writing and publishing this open article I thought that is was sad that such an incident was hanging over the sport and sadder even to see that while the Board almost played this down – or then at least issuing statements that do not really say anything – more and more rumours are being spread.
Rumour now even involves certain people sent to compete overseas funded by MSA money? This I do not have any evidence of and as I say is merely a rumour – but I have no other way to determine the facts. (Please see last paragraph)
Business Day states that “the current CE(sic) Francois Pretorius, is the subject of no less than seven separate allegations of fraud, all of which are investigated by the police.”
I believe “MSA1” as his registration number embarrassingly states must now come out and issue his own statements instead of doing so second-hand through the MSA Board?
Yes we know he is innocent until proven guilty – but the MSA statement clearly read: “ there is no criminal case pending in any Court of law against Mr Pretorius, he has not been arrested, and he is not “out on bail”; - if what was written in Business Day and if what I have been informed about by affected parties and other concerned people are true – then that statement is false?
I sincerely hope that someone will respond and give us the REAL facts.
Just to inform you why I took this avenue to get reaction – I have previously demanded a Court of Enquiry on an incident involving Pretorius and then nothing happened because according to Alan Wheeler, the main role player in this embarrassing incident, Pretorius, decided that the matter was resolved.
The Chairman of the Board showed a similar reaction when a few persons brought this specific and other incidents to his attention – so I suppose the readers will understand that we can merely place this on the website and hope to get some reaction?
I do believe we are running out of rope and that the jerk (if you will pardon the pun) is going to do more than only leave a red mark!
