Depending on the size of your group, the session will probably start at 10h00, but that will be confirmed by Rallystar during your booking.
The adrenaline filled day starts of with an interesting introduction session during which we discuss the sport of motor rallying and the incredible experience of participating.
We also tell you about the rules for the day and chat about drive-lines through corners, rally car behaviour, what to do and what not to do, and a few things in general.
We will also explain the use of the Route Notes so that you are more familiar with them when you will tackle your first Special Stage just like a seasoned rally driver! See also the general rules for more on the notes!
We will then all move to the designated track and one of our instructors will take you around to show you something about “racing lines” and point out the danger points, the specific things to watch out for while you try to memorize the lot!
Then you get your turn to get behind the steering wheel of the rally car. During the first four laps you get the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the car and get the feeling of its power and behaviour on gravel.
Then follows what you have been waiting for - the chance to open up the power under the bonnet and get the sensation of a real adrenaline rush during the amazing performance of a rally car driven in anger!
Then comes your big test when you have to drive a Rally Special Stage you are not familiar with.
Have you the ability to drive a rally car while memorising the instructions, remembering one while listening to the next one...??
This is when you will experience what it is like in a rally car while the team competes under pressure!
Your professional navigator will call the instructions at machine gun tempo and you will have to interpret them as your drive through a special stage! This is where you need to keep your cool and prove that you have what it takes!
Instructions come flying, you will have to listen to one call, interpret and apply it, while you have to listen to the next one, remember the previous one...take in another ...awesome!
This is real fun, but afterwards you will have new respect for the ability of rally drivers who do all these things at high speed!
Then, just to make sure that we managed to pump every drop of adrenaline from you, one of our instructors will, as special bonus take you for a HOT lap around the specialist rally track to ...cool you down?
We offer special prices to groups of six and more!
Price includes a light lunch and RallyStar Certificate. Self-drive sessions last about 1 to 2.5 hours depending on size of the group. RALLYSTAR “HOTSEAT” EXPERIENCE

The “Hotseat” experience consist of a reconnaissance lap driven at medium speed to familiarise you with the experience, show you part of the route and prepare you somewhat for the experience.
Then, when you believe it cannot be so bad, all hell breaks loose when our Pro opens up the powerful rally car and take you for the ride of your life!!
You may be lucky enough to experience the well-known car control skills of ex-South African multi Rally champion Leon Botha**** which will ensure that you bring all your friends for more! (****note that drivers are rotated)

RALLYSTAR SUPER SPECIAL SPIN EXPERIENCE
R1000 (Per person)
This is a double whammy – where we add some excitement not many people will ever experience. We take your group around our Super Special stage in two competing rally cars at the same time!
You experience what happens on a WRC event during a Super Special Stage!
The two cars start next to each other and you will experience that magic from the moment the two drivers pull away until they fly over the last jump together!
How does this work?
After flying over the notorious BIG Rallystar jump the cars split away from each other - the one doing the short lap while the other completes the "long" circuit. Then come the nerve wrecking switch-over of lanes when the drivers change track!
All this while you polish your ability to pray and also enjoy one of the greatest sensations you will ever enjoy!
If all goes well, the two cars should cross the finish line together!

For this Super Special treat - only groups of 10 and more will be accommodated. Includes a light lunch.

RALLYSTAR RALLY DRIVER TRAINING
We offer several rally driving packages ranging from ‘fun’ adrenaline packed rally experiences to in-depth training for active and prospective rally drivers and navigators.
If you are interested in training –the following information may help:
Rally driving is an expensive sport, sponsors are hard to find and sponsor commitment of more than a year is a rarity. That said, there are ways to develop your ability and standing in the sport without going bankrupt!
Before you make the decision to invest in a car, service crew and the like we would suggest you do a driver assessment. The course is offered by Leon Botha – ex-multi rally champion with more than 4 decades experience in the sport.
The assessment offers you a frank and realistic appraisal of you abilities and allows you to set up the correct training program and purchase the correct car to suite your driving style.
If, after the assessment, Leon feels that you do not have the potential to be a rally driver we will either refund 50% of the fee or offer you an advanced driver training session to complete the day. If however he feels you do have the potential he will work closely with you to set up a training program to suite your budget and schedule.
Most new rally drivers who came into the sport over the past five years, started off at Rallystar where we lay the basics and then develop on that.
The assessment costs R 1 500 and additional training sessions are available to R2500 (your own car) and R4000 (in one of our cars) each. We plan this to fit in with your program and budget. Booking essential.
Rallystar Motorsport Academy is situated next to the R51 between Bapsfontein and Benoni and is the only of its kind in South Africa.

Route Note Navigation training (4 hours)
